Warm and full arrangements are a mug of whiskey and black tea on a cold evening. The winters get into your bones in Montreal and Noah Cebuliak knows it. The wilderness seeps into the city, into the shelter on the back of the snowstorm and asserts its lasting presence.
Here, warm arrangements are infiltrated by a wildness of melody. Songs for muses, those for whom we brave the outdoors, are imbued with pillars of the natural world. Recorded at Concordia University during a cold snap, there is an atmosphere of tension, a delicate balancing of the always-present outdoors and the claustrophobic protection of the studio walls.
