Ambient textures generously applied in songs like ‘Needleye’ make perfect bedrock for Irwin’s delicate guitar plucking and his paintbrush of a voice. The banger the album opens with, ‘Bluedust’, has that hifi flanged & reverbed effect that makes his strings sound like a symphony of acoustic guitar impresarios.
