Jom Comyn’s Sunstroke EP, released last August, was one of my favourite records of 2011. In the eleventh hour, a new video for the opening song, Hatchet in Garage, has been released from the gilded AV loins of Edmonton’s seasoned Highwire Films. The video perfectly encapsulates the industrialized winter that is at the core of many of Jom Comyn’s recordings. It’s a truly gorgeous portrait of a song and a terrain this correspondent is all too familiar with.
