“Hush” is the first single from the forth coming Mikey Maybe record, Ladies Night, dropping on OLD UGLY Recording Co. on February 3rd. You’ll notice that Mikey’s approach to rap writing is far more akin to a playwright’s methods than a rappers. I’ve seen this gentlemen spin some fine yarns the width of which could strangle any number of gibbering battle rappers, but I most enjoy his modernist creative-writing musings such as “Hush” and “Sashimi.” Check out the new single and watch the video by the Edmonton film don, Mike Robertson.
